He is currently the Davenport beat reporter, covering city hall, development, features and anything else of note in the city. His interests include cycling, fishing, golf, reading and travel. David Heitz covers Bettendorf for the Quad-City Times. He has more than 20 years of reporting experience, having started at the Times in 1986, when he was in high school. After college, he moved to California, where he worked as a reporter and editor covering government in Glendale, Burbank and Orange County. He returned to the Times full-time in 2006.
